poso sa saging, Walay Sud an

Walay Sud an

Kanang maong poso sa saging maoy among gisud an sa panihapon gigisa ug gisagulan ug tinapa. Lamian gyud!

Daghang salamat sa paglantaw.

PS. Pagkahuman namog panguha anang poso, namayabas pa mi ug pagkahuman nanigway dayun mig bata. Perteng lingawa.Just sharing.

Fiesta Event: Disco and Sabong June 19, 2014

June 19, 2014 by Mitch 2 Comments

Luna Fiesta

One of the winners in Sabong Donna Mayuman-Itum, Joseph Itum and Jerome Itum. Congratulations to all the winners!

Yesterdays event was sabong, whats your bet?, “biya”or ‘”inilog”. Whoever won, congratulations! During Fiesta in Luna, sabong is always one of the entertainment for people. Donna and Joseph are on of the lucky winners in this game. Good on you folks, you got some cah and free dinner. Sabong was the entertainment at daytime, of course there are some fun at night too.

Who among you have fun last night during the disco? In line with the fiesta celebration comes the pre entertainments on desperas. Last nights disco was sponsored by our barangay and with the MOR hosted by the most popular dj’s in radio “totoy bugoy and Lala Morena. It was really super fun! It was held at “Kampo” where everyone knows where it is if you are from Barangay Luna. Doesn’t matter the coldness of the temperature, once you get grooving you will sweat it out. The best time get your body moving ang dancing along with fellow Lunaens enjoying the Disco. Many adults and youngters came from different neighbouring barangays too.

It all went well, peaceful and no dramas at all. The drunkards are well behave and didn’t started trouble at all. It is also good to see the visibility of our barangay officials participating in this kind of events as well as the barangay tanods who keeps peace and order during the said event. Well done!

Stories Of Success:by Roldan Araneta Gamalo RN

June 19, 2014 by Mitch 3 Comments

Roldan Araneta Gamalo RNAko po si Roldan A. Gamalo, 23 taong gulang, ipinanganak ako noong Enero 15, 1990 sa Valencia Bohol. Kasalukuyan akong nakatira sa Zone 4, Luna, Claveria Misamis Oriental. May pitong kapatid ako, dalawang babae ant limang lalaki. Noong First Year High School, sobrang excited ako dahil sa porsigido ako sa pag-aaral. Noong second year high school, kong ano yong dinaranas ko noong first year ay pareho lang pagdating ng second year. Natapos ko ang ikatlong taon sa highschool bilang fourth year honor, best in technology livelihood education (TLE) at best in Mapeh.

My Story (by Cristy Olinan)

June 18, 2014 by Mitch 3 Comments

Cristy OlinanHi my name is Cristy Olinan,

I just want to share my short story. I am really from the neighbouring barangay of Luna called Lanise but I used to go to Barangay Luna because I have family and relatives in there. My grandparents, my uncles and aunts, my nieces and nephews and so as my cousins, as well as friends. At the moment I am residing now in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, a couple of hours drive away from Barangay Luna. I spent my elementary years in Luna Elementary School, barangay Luna witnessed all my hardships and struggles in life when I was a kid. I can still remember back in the old days where fun is always there as a kid. Sometimes me and my classsmates don’t go to class instead we goes to Cabulig to explore and experience some adventure, Cabulig is a river down there overlooking when you are at  Luna. I have a lot of childhood memories back then, after I graduatd in Elementary I went to Jasaan and studied high school at Jasaan National High School. I studied hard and  the experiences I have is priceless, I have experienced riding on topload of the jeepneys just to get home, doesn’t bother me if its raining or even wearing a skirt climbing on top of the jeepney because there is no room inside  and there’s not much jeepneys going home especially during times at late afternoon or after school hours so I got no choice but to climb aboard and horray! im on top of the world! no , I mean I’m on top of the jeepney :). I still got home safe though. Those are just some of my adventures, the hardships in life serves as my inspiration. I never expected that I could go to college after high school graduation because in reality I came from a poor family. With the help of my grandmother, she is my inspiration. She helped me and look after me, she took care of me. I love my grandmother so much, maybe without her by my side I am nothing. I studied hard and I never knew after couple of years of studying I graduated in college and I admit I am so proud of myself. I graduated in St. Peters College in Balingasag as Bachelor of Science in Computer Secretarial. And I was so blessed, and my sacrifices are being paid off, a couple of months after my gradution I found a job and I am now currently working as a Marketing Officer in Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company.

Fiesta is Coming

June 10, 2014 by Mitch Leave a Comment

Fiesta is ComingBarangay Luna’s fiesta is fast approaching. This year the fiesta date falls on June 20-21, 2014.  Many years ago when I was a kid the fiesta was held every 1st of October. But now it was changed to every month of June. Fiesta celebration is the time of thanksgiving to barangay patron, in Luna it was the Immaculate Concepcion. This is the time of feast where every household has preparations of any varieties of food to be serve to all the visitor. Visitors are not choosen but instead, the house is open to everyone wether they are from different places, whoever they are even if you don’t know them or not. In short it can also be called as “eat all you can”. If you want to explore every ones houses food preparations, then you should have your tummy ready, because at the end of the day you be stuffed.

In terms of entertainment and events held during fiesta. Disco is always on the list. It usually falls on every Friday and Sunday night after the mass. The disco is being held at “kampo” as we call it at Zone 5. In zone 5 it is where the basketball court is located and there’s plenty of room for dancing people so its the best place for Disco.

Upcoming Events:

  •  sabong( cockfighting)
  • Basketball League
  • Disco

During Fiesta in Luna, this is the best time to have fun and mingle with the youngsters, wherein teenagers goes home from the city to attend the fiesta celebration of their hometown. The pretty ladies and handsome boys comes home and other families comes home and makes barangay Luna alive and kicking, escape from all days work in the farm.

Fiesta here is an special occasion, people get stuffed and full, some get drunk, some gets in trouble with other drunkards but the most important thing is they have enjoyed themselves before another week goes back to normal again.

Happy Fiesta Barangay Luna!

My Beautiful Hometown

June 10, 2014 by Mitch 3 Comments

Luna The perfect place ever, where and why? It’s in my hometown Luna. You know why?, because if your looking for a place where theres no flood, nice and cool weather, no pollution, fresh air and a peaceful life,  then Luna it is. Since it is like 3000 below sea level the climate is cool, and there are crops everywhere. Green scenary, cool breeze of fresh air..I spent my childhood years in Luna. I can still remember when i was a kid, i usedto fetch water in the spring just 200 meters away from our house. Lifewas so tough back then, where the road was so bumpy and dusty yet. As time goes by barangay Luna has more improvements. It already had water system, so this just means i am not going to fetch water far away and canwash clothes at home. Its fun to live in a place where you knew all your neighbours name, and in times when you need help or emergencies you can always count on them to lend you a hand. It’s like bayanihan, where one whole community in one hand to hand.
