Our Luna Trip this year

Our Trip to Luna

Luna

We visited our second home this year Luna Cagayan de Oro Mindanao. Stayed for 4 weeks with the wife’s family. It was a great trip once again looking forward to it in a couple of years again.

Had planned on doing the rounds but just didn’t eventuate. I was pretty much a hermit but loved every second of living working and relaxing up in the mountain ranges. We did go down into Cagayan de Oro a few times by private car to buy things. Shopping and building materials, after spending a few hours in CDO.

I just couldn’t wait to get out just insanely HOT and miserable. You could notice the difference driving to Luna and the Temperatures would drop a degree every kilometer.

My stay in Luna

June 8, 2014 by Bill Fiskilis Leave a Comment

I went and visited my wifes parents up in Luna aprox 45 minutes out of Claveria, and aprox 2,5 hours out of Cagayan de oro. We didn’t ride a jeepney as it took 3-4 hours and it was a safer way to travel by taxi. Not a bad price we befriended a taxi driver from CDO and charged us 2000 pesos for the journey, so we used him a couple of times, he was always there, a phone call and he would drive up to Luna and pick us up. Anyway back to Luna.  A small barangay with about 1200 people way up in the mountains. A far cry from the city, but very nice place. We stayed there for 2 weeks, it was a simple laid back life to what I was use to. I enjoyed my stay there everyone was nice and hospitable.
I was always out and about, going up to the farm helping out it was full on, I felt in my pride having so much freedom and fresh air to breath in. Compared to CDO full of smog and people that always looked at you top to bottom, I didn’t go much on that place.
Luna was an excellent place, the wife didn’t let me venture of too far especially up towards the mountain road heading to the next barangay, as it was unsafe especially for western people. Would of loved to of tho!
